Welcome to Monkey Puzzle

Hi there. My name is Cayden Herbert, the owner of Monkey Puzzle Stoke Newington. It has always been a dream of mine to own and run my own nursery. My team and I are dedicated to giving every child the best start in life by caring for and supporting them to play, learn and grow in a positive and stimulating environment. I would love for you to get to know myself and my dedicated team.

I am so excited to welcome you to Stoke Newington and help your little ones grow to be the best they can be!

Children continue their learning through the EYFS, building on earlier foundations as they prepare for primary school. With a more structured routine and small group work, preschoolers develop focus, independence, and social skills. While play remains central, we introduce activities tailored to each child’s interests, linked to the seven EYFS areas. To support digital confidence, children use age-appropriate IT equipment, including iPads. Our goal is to help every child feel confident, curious, and school-ready.

Our Toddler Room is designed to support the curiosity and growing independence of children aged 18 months to 3 years. Child-friendly toilets help toddlers build confidence in self-care during toilet training. Whether exploring independently or joining in with others, children are nurtured, supported, and inspired every step of the way.

Our Three Little Pigs activity was a hit today! 🐷🐷🐷🐺

🐷 We began the morning by reading the story, in Spanish 🇪🇸 to support our EAL children, helping them connect through language and story. From there, we brought the tale to life through craft and play

🏠 Children built their own straw, stick, and brick houses, working on their fine motor skills, creativity, and problem solving. Teachers encouraged them to “blow” each house to test its strength, just like the Big Bad Wolf! 💨

🏡 Then, using spare bricks, they collaboratively built a big, strong house to explore the idea of reusing materials and sustainability 🧱🌍

📖 To finish, the children re-enacted the story, taking turns to be the wolf or one of the pigs, a lovely way to encourage democracy, confidence, and imaginative play. A beautiful blend of literacy, language support, craft, and collaborative learning 🌟📚
