Welcome to Monkey Puzzle

Hi there. My name is Cayden Herbert, the owner of Monkey Puzzle Stoke Newington. It has always been a dream of mine to own and run my own nursery. My team and I are dedicated to giving every child the best start in life by caring for and supporting them to play, learn and grow in a positive and stimulating environment. I would love for you to get to know myself and my dedicated team.

I am so excited to welcome you to Stoke Newington and help your little ones grow to be the best they can be!

We know preschoolers are energetic, curious learners who need the right fuel to support their growth and busy days. A healthy, balanced diet is essential for their development and daily adventures. At this stage, children start to understand how food helps their bodies, building the foundation for lifelong healthy habits. Mealtimes also promote independence, preschoolers are encouraged to self-serve with gentle guidance, helping them develop confidence, self-regulation, and a sense of choice in a supportive, nutritious setting.

A Confident Start to School Life

Children continue their learning through the EYFS, building on earlier foundations as they prepare for primary school. With a more structured routine and small group work, preschoolers develop focus, independence, and social skills. While play remains central, we introduce activities tailored to each child’s interests, linked to the seven EYFS areas. To support digital confidence, children use age-appropriate IT equipment, including iPads. Our goal is to help every child feel confident, curious, and school-ready.

Our Toddler Room is designed to support the curiosity and growing independence of children aged 18 months to 3 years. In our safe, stimulating space, dedicated learning zones encourage creativity, reading, group play, and imaginative exploration. From messy play to circle time, each area supports early development. Child-friendly toilets help toddlers build confidence in self-care during toilet training. Whether exploring independently or joining in with others, children are nurtured, supported, and inspired every step of the way.

Healthy Eating

As children grow, a healthy and balanced diet is key, and we inspire with a variety of colour, texture, and taste to expand their food experiences.

Seasonal and local produce are also important in helping children understand more about where food comes from and nutrition.

What a day! 🏁✨

During our INSET day, we turned North London into our very own adventure course with an Amazing Race for our staff and it did not disappoint!

Teams travelled across different locations, completing fun challenges and solving clues to unlock their next destination. The energy, teamwork, and laughter all the way to the final meeting point made it such a special experience 💛

A huge well done to everyone who took part, we had so much fun and made amazing memories together! 🎉

Our nursery in London comes alive as we set up the muddy kitchen with exciting sensory resources, from flowing water to crunchy dry leaves 🍂💧 Creating an inviting space where curiosity leads the way and every child can explore, imagine, and discover!

🐣🌼 Easter fun at nursery today 🌼🐣

Our little ones had the best time exploring a magical Easter hunt, searching high and low for hidden eggs and surprises 🐰🥚 It was lovely to see their excitement, curiosity and teamwork as they followed clues and shared their discoveries with each other.

We also got creative with arts and crafts, making our own Easter bunny ears and colourful decorations 🎨✨ so much imagination, confidence and joy all in one day!

Located on Stoke Newington High Street and just a short walk from Stoke Newington and Rectory Road Overground stations, our beautiful nursery provides a nurturing home from home environment for children aged 3 months through to preschool age.

Opening times: 7:30am to 6:30pm
